Impressions: In an area saturated with Nebbiolo, this San Giacomo cuvee is sure grab your attention. Winemaker Matteo developed a system where the Dolcetto tanks are not cleaned after fermentation and then used to make this beautiful Langhe Nebbiolo imparting nuances unlike most. Fresh cherry and strawberry hover over delicate floral tones of rose petals. On the palette, soft tannins play with balanced acidity. A distinct mint cocoa character leads its way to a delicate refreshing finish.
About The Producer: The Ascheri family has been notable in the Piemonte region for well over a century. The vineyards and cellars were established in 1880. Now run by Matteo and his son Giuseppe the estate and are notable Barolo producers with vineyards in Serralunga, La Mora, and Roero. Not only do they produce prolific Barolo but focus on an array of native monovarietals from the Piemonte region. With extreme attention to detail from the vine to cellar, each vintage is a beautiful representation of Piemontese wine.
