A crisp and mineral-driven blend of 60% Loureiro, 30% Avesso, 5% Arinto, 5% Azal. The grapes come from a vineyard near Viana do Castelo, in the region of Vinho Verde (sub-region Lima), 8 km from the Atlantic ocean. The soils are granitic and the vines are grown using organic and biodynamic farming. After much critical acclaim for Casa de Mouraz, the ALR brand was introduced in 2006. Short for António Lopes Ribeiro, the alr label is a multi-regional brand comprising a red wine from the Douro (sourced from two organically certified vineyards), a Vinho Verde from a single organic vineyard in the Lima subregion and an Alentejo red now being sourced from certified organic growers.
