A descendent of a long line of farmers, Christophe Mignon is a true conduit of the land and his unique approach to viticulture combines his own extension of biodynamics to include homeopathy, geobiology, and phytotherapy; all guided by the force of the moon in both the cellar and vineyard. His vines are spread among thirty parcels between the villages of Le Breuil and Festigny in the Vallée de la Marne. These terroirs are prime land for Pinot Meunier, which Mignon picks at optimum ripeness to allow for little, if any, dosage. His ‘ADN’ Blanc de Noirs is always a 50/50 blend of the domaine’s most recent 2 vintages. Irresistible aromas of raspberries, underripe strawberry, rhubarb, iodine and rose water jump out of the glass. The acidity is thriving and unleashes tight compact and charged bubbles that dance over a delightful round and silky vinous profile. The finish is chalky and bone drive, with a return to the initial red berry and floral notes leaving their mark once again. Highly enjoyable, with a pronounced clarity and precision. Simply put, Mignon is the finest producer of Pinot Meunier Champagne in the entire region.
