Notes from Sally Hillman:

"In 2016, Elise Bougy took over the family Estate in the small Premier Cru village of Les Mesneux in the Petite Montagne de Reims. On paper, this is considered relatively recent; however, much can be said about her passion for wine and spirits, which was embedded early on. And her path to winemaking?—Surely written in the stars.

After a few years of formal education in agricultural management and international trade in wine and spirits, and another six years of experience in Paris, Elise combined her love of wine (a legacy passed down from her late mother Maryse) and keen interest in entrepreneurship to launch her own agency, ‘Les Bouchons d’Elise’, in Champagne in 2014, offering consultancy services and selling wine and spirits. A strong conviction to ‘connect people and wine’ and to uphold ‘the good and the beautiful, the passion for the wines of artists and emotions while respecting environmental values’ underpins all that Elise does, and it is this positive, impactful energy and conscientious forward-thinking that imbues her new venture as young winemaker and young gun to watch."
