Born in Alsace, wife and husband team Céline and Nicolas headed south to the Beaujolais region, where they were entranced by old gamay vines of an estate in Chénas. Since acquiring the domaine in 2011, they now farm just under 10 acres of old-vine, densely planted gamay growing on steep granitic, sandy soils in the towns of Chénas, Juliénas, and Moulin à Vent. Their 2020 Juliénas is bright, with aromas of fresh raspberries, sliced strawberry, dried roses and white pepper. The palate is lean, with vibrant acidity carrying a juicy texture towards a minimal tannin touch that finishes crisp, fruity, slightly floral and with a touch of saline. Off the charts quaffable.
