In the mid-19\u003csup data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e century, Cavazza saw the potential for Nebbiolo here and opted to not settle in the much more celebrated Barolo region. The Cavazza’s sold Cantina del Pino to the Vacca family in the early 20\u003csup data-mce-fragment=\"1\"\u003eth\u003c\/sup\u003e century, and they’ve been caring for the vineyards ever since. Cantina del Pino produces three Barbarescos, a Langhe Nebbiolo, a Barbera d’Alba, and a Dolcetto d’Alba, as well as a Langhe Freisa. No chemical fertilizers, and vineyards are managed with an extreme respect to the environment. Vines average 40 years old.
