Sergio's Pick
I wish the air smelled like this wine. Highly aromatic notes of stone fruits, quince, white flowers, and marjoram entice from the glass. The palate is mineral-driven, with a racy acidity that refreshes, and easily tames its off-dry nature. The finish is lengthy, fruity, stony with slightly herbal notes. This wine is in its prime. The Berres family has grown and made great Rieslings in the privileged sites of Ürzig, Erden and Wehlen since 1510. Markus Berres, 21st generation, succeeded his father Alfred in 2004. From ancient vines on a very steep slope (Treppchen means "staircase").
