On the eastern edge of Spain’s Sierra de Gredos mountains. For this wine most of the vineyards were planted in 2008 as field blends of local varieties like Malvar and Albillo. The old vines from the estate in this blend are Macabeo and Moscatel. All fruit is estate and farmed organically with elements of biodynamics. Blossoms, pear, honeysuckle, and citrus that runs from lemon to tangerine. Broad midpalate with good acidity and a spicy-gingery note that kicks in. Different, but familiar, and oh so drinkable.
