High "Saint Aubin-style" elevation, very rocky limestone and white clay soil. Vines planted in 1953.
Whole-cluster pressing, light settling, transfer to barrels (older oak) for indigenous yeast fermentation and aging. Fined and/or filtered only if necessary.
Jasper Morris:
Pale lemon colour. This year’s Meursault-Blagny has a most sublime nose, very precise, not exuberant but with a sense of poise that is most appealing. Really concentrated at the back of the palate with a perfect acid balance. Crisp pure fresh apple finish yet perfectly ripe. 13.4% alcohol, pH 3.24. The wine offered in magnum format is a fractionally different cuvée but recognisably the same in style and quality.
