Notes from Jose Pastor Selections:
The Akutain Gran Reserva Rosado is, like the Gran Reserva, composed of Tempranillo with a small amount of Garnacha. The winemaking is also very similar: a shorter maceration than the red, fermentation with native yeasts in fiberglass, and raising in a single old barrel of American oak for more than three years. After bottling, the rosado rests a further two years before release. In the inaugural 2015 vintage, only 600 bottles were made.
