It is rare to come across Aglianico based rosé, and when you do they feel more like a chilled red. 'Vetere' is clearly inspired by Procençal rosé, and entices with aromas of red fruits, wildflowers, and dried herbs. This is a lovely example that does not require decades to tame, and is drinking beautifully now. Vines are sourced from the town of Giungano which gives this cuvée its name. On the nose, it offers a decadent bouquet of blackberry, plum skin, and dark chocolate with nuanced hints of dried lavender and tarry smoke. The palate is full-bodied and energetic, balancing ripe, well-integrated tannins with a vibrant acidity and a long, persistent finish.
